The American Tourister design team is looking for a talented student to perform a 3 to 6 months internship.

American Tourister is one of the top 3 luggage brands in the world, developing key collections for a young and active consumer.

Part of the Samsonite Group, we are based in its headquarters in Oudenaarde, Belgium.

The profile:

- A student in product / industrial design in the 3rd to 5th year

- Show creative mindset and be pro-active in concept proposals

- Be interested in the product development process

- Skills in graphics and prints creation

- Have an eye for the latest products and fashion trends.

- Be ready to work in an international design and development team

- Show strong skill in the Adobe Suite (AI, PS)

- 3D knowledge and Keyshot skills are a plus

- Thinking out of the box

- Willing to relocate in Belgium

- Proficient in English

- Student within the European Union

The job:

- Make design proposals according to the market and marketing requests/needs

- Work on various products type including soft and hard luggage and non-travel items (casual backpacks, business backpacks, duffels, and other accessories)

- Working with our kid’s products and licenses (Disney, Marvel…)

- Propose graphical prints directions for the main collections and the kids’ category based on the latest trends

- Translate your designs into clear technical drawings for sampling

- Follow up on the development of your collections with our development team based in Asia

- Reviews samples and give comments to finetune and adjusts your concepts

- Present and defend your concepts to the marketing team
