Delta Faucet Company, one of the largest decorative plumbing products manufacturers in the world, is headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana. Our design team is an award-winning group providing creative direction and product portfolio management for an array of products in the kitchen and bathroom spaces including:

• Kitchen and lavatory faucets
• Tub and shower faucet units (i.e. valve controls, tub spouts, showerheads, hand showers, body sprays, shower panel systems, etc.)
• All manner of accessories such as pulls and knobs, shelving systems, towel bars and rings, robe hooks, tissue holders, bud vases, votive holders, mirrors, etc.
• Lighting
• Sanitary ware including toilets, etc.
• Bathing products including all varieties of tubs, shower surrounds, tub/shower combos, shower doors, etc.
• And integrating electronics, technology and IoT into almost all of the above

It is a fun category to work within as you design products everybody interacts with in many ways multiple times a day, all while working with water as a design element. Whether it’s the utility of the kitchen environment or the quiet retreat of the bathroom, water is essential. Have you ever really thought about how much water affects your daily life? Well, the products on which you'll be working truly have an impact on people’s lives.

Working with interdisciplinary teams provides you the chance to create the wide variety of products listed above. With these creative experiences, you will never be bored! From an industrial design standpoint, we handle virtually every project making it into the product plan, so whoever fills this spot will be in a position to become a major contributor rather quickly.

Responsibilities:

• Solving product related design and styling problems in creative, timely, and cost-effective ways with a strong focus on products in retail channel.
• Preparing sketches, renderings, and models of innovative product designs
• Presenting ideas in a clear manner through visual, written, and verbal form to internal team, consumers, customers and suppliers to accurately complete design assignments
• Participating in and conducting consumer research for new product development and advanced concept projects leading you to product innovation and consumer preferred designs
• Providing input to ID management to further define portfolio needs
• Submitting and managing design patents
• Assist ID team in projects when needed.

Education & Experience:

• Working towards BA/BS or BFA in Industrial, Design, Product Design or Furniture Design

What you can expect from the Co-op Program:

• Proficient in Creo (Cad program)
• Mentorship
• Participate in real projects
• Have yours designs to be part of the research set – top designs will be pitched to buyers
• Understanding of consumer preferred products
• Managing/leading your own projects as well as juggling multiple projects
• Conducting consumer research with team
• We have a strong track record of having co-ops leave with design patents and products launched, hopefully that will be the same for you.
• How to create design patents
• This will push graduation back a year.
