The Opportunity

The Hardware and Retail Marketing organization is responsible for driving the growth of Google's hardware brands, including but not limited to Google Pixel, Google Home, Pixelbook, wearables and accessories. We partner with product teams to understand the user, shape the product roadmap, and bring products to market through coordinated global media campaigns. As a Packaging Designer, you will work on design from concept to production, ensuring brand consistency in color, typography, photography, feel, and overall appearance.

You will shape the future by designing, developing, and executing on unique packaging experiences that harness the power of Google to delight and inspire people worldwide. Collaborating with our Leads and Directors, you will participate on projects from concept through to production. You will also play a design leadership role on assigned projects, and collaborate with all members of cross-functional teams executing against brand and/or product positioning to ensure success.

About the Job

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree Fine Arts, Graphic Design, or other related design discipline, or equivalent practical experience
  • 8 years of experience specializing in visual design for print, in a design agency
  • 6 years of experience working with creative suites (e.g. Illustrator, Indesign, and Photoshop)

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working with vendors globally
  • Knowledge of printing process, packaging engineering, and structures
  • Knowledge in sustainable materials and print methods
  • Ability to partner with production designers to ensure accurate execution
  • Excellent written/verbal skills with exceptional attention to detail


  • Deliver on-brand, on-strategy creative for worldwide packaging stock keeping units (SKUs).
  • Interact with agencies and external vendors.
  • Help advance the creative team to be a strategic resource.
  • Review and elicit feedback from project stakeholders.
  • Execute projects successfully and on time.
