The Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Design Strategist to support the creation and delivery of projects for some of the world’s most recognised companies and brands in healthcare and FMCG.

Front-End Innovation and Strategic Design is key to growth at KD. We create future products and services informed by insight or foresight. The next decade presents big challenges that require big thinking. We set direction, define what’s next and keep brands relevant.

About you

To be successful in this role you’ll be able to:

  • Lead projects to understand needs, identify opportunities and possibilities and create clear direction for innovation.
  • With the design team, create research stimulus and hypotheses.
  • Frame and identify problems and opportunities, bringing to life ideas through visuals or storytelling.
  • Carry out desk research on topics and trends, creating clear territories to inspire ideas.
  • Plan, prepare and support the facilitation of engaging workshops, delivering clear outcomes and direction.
  • Be comfortable structuring and creating inspiring and compelling presentations and interfacing with clients.
  • Be able to create clear journey maps or service blueprints to demonstrate areas of need and opportunity.
  • Be confident in supporting the new business team with client engagement, proposal writing and structuring a project approach.

Necessary skills and experience:

Whilst you do not need all of these, please ensure you meet the majority of them before making an application.

  • You will have experience either as a design researcher, design strategist or a designer wanting to move upstream to define what’s next and guide design and innovation direction.
  • You will have experience in client engagement and new business activities, such as creating and structuring a project approach, writing proposals and pitching offers to potential clients.
  • You will have some experience in conducting or participating in different aspects of qualitative design research.
  • Ideally, you will have hands on design experience and be confident in visualising propositions and ideas (3D product or pack design or service design).
  • Unravelling problems is your thing, and you can breakdown complicated information in a simple and easy to understand format that can be presented in an engaging way.

Salary commensurate with experience. Global travel will be part of this role when it is safe to do so post-covid (est. 5% of time).
