GENERAL FUNCTION

The Industrial Designer works in a hands-on environment where innovative and creative talents of different disciplines unite. The Designer surpasses expectations and overcomes obstacles of complacency, stagnation, and conventional thinking of what is possible in product design, by leveraging a strong ability to adapt and overcome.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works within a team to design and develop innovative products ranging from eyewear, helmets, electronics and accessories consistent with the unique and innovative direction of the brand
  • Has direct involvement with the evolution of market-leading products from conception, development, through to production
  • Gives shape, form, and a variety of alternatives to concepts and ideas discussed during brainstorming and strategy sessions
  • Operates with a strong sense of finish detail
  • Stays current on market and fashion trends
  • Understands competition and interprets ideas from what is observed in an innovative way
  • Must be open to travel (approx 10-15%).

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design or related
  • 2+ years of design work experience in the product, or automotive design field
  • Ability to develop designs using SubD software; preferred experience with Alias, Rhino, Blender, and/or Gravity Sketch
  • Able to create clear sketches that show design intent and form development, which may be used to build models (hand and CAD), both by self and staff modelers
  • Excellent communication skills both visually and verbally
  • Able to excel in a team environment
  • Able to work autonomously with a high level of accountability to deliverables

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Basic understanding of Oakley consumer groups
  • Design experience in sport performance or auto industries

​Pay Range: 82,193.18  - 109,227.00

 

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements. In addition, you may also be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan, which complements a first-class total rewards package. Benefits may include health care, retirement savings, paid time off/vacation, and various employee discounts.
