The A-Surface Designer II role plays an instrumental part in establishing design intent within BISSELL’s Consumer Design team. They create a-surfaces and high-fidelity renderings within the early phases of the Global Product Development (GPD) process leveraging 2D ideation, engineering layouts and design standards. Working in close partnership with the Industrial Design project lead, they capture the Visual Brand Language (VBL) through volume, surface, pattern, texture and molded in graphic elements.
The A-Surface Designer II role is accountable for delivering design intent surfaces which balance the input from Design, Product Engineering & Manufacturing. They help problem solve as they create and assist in story telling through renderings and physical model builds. They play a key role in the collaboration process by facilitating interactive A-Surface design reviews to clarify assumptions with peers in the cross-functional development team.
Partnership with BISSELL’s CAD Services team is critical in best practice definition, tools & process optimization. The A-Surface Designer II is consulted in the continuous improvement of the overall process and is expected to be a subject matter expert in the CAD development process for the Consumer Design Department. In addition to this partnership, the A-Surface Designer helps further the departments knowledge on the latest tools & techniques for CAD development & visualization.
