We are now looking for an experienced senior-level industrial designer to join our growing global design team. This is primarily an on-site opportunity based in our Malmö, Sweden studio, and the role is available immediately. Job Description

As a Senior Industrial Designer at Above, you will be an integral part of our industrial design team and creative practice at large, while working with diverse, multi-disciplinary project teams on a wide range of cutting-edge design & innovation projects for some of the world\'s most exciting clients. 



With a high-level of conceptual and strategic thinking, you will have direct impact in shaping excellent project deliveries through strong craft and creativity - closely collaborating with a multitude of internal & external stakeholders, and often assuming leadership over projects and teams. This role is further expected to contribute to developing our industrial design competence, including workflows, processes, talent & client acquisition, and overall discipline trajectory. Equally, we are looking for an interest in mentoring & growing more junior creatives through close and present leadership.

Our work is exciting and diverse in nature, spanning high-volume consumer products, smart home devices, furniture, robotics, future mobility experiences, progressive healthcare solutions, packaging and many more. We create impact on all levels and horizons - from category-defining hero products with clear go-to-market intent, to multi-dimensional portfolio strategies and compelling future visions alike.

What we are looking for

We are looking for inspiring portfolios that show a progressive approach to industrial design, and believe you possess many of these qualities to thrive in this role: 


• 6+ years of relevant professional experience

• Previous agency experience with international exposure across a multitude of domains preferred, such as consumer tech, audio & lifestyle products, wearables, robotics, healthcare innovation or similar

• A well-curated design portfolio showcasing excellent craft, conceptual clarity and refined aesthetic culture 

• Sensibility in working holistically and strategically with brand, portfolio innovation, and complex designed systems 

• Proven ability to lead projects from start to finish while shaping and refining design & innovation processes, as well as guiding and motivating teams
• A fluid software toolbox (CAD, AI tools, visualisation, storytelling etc), paired with an innate ability to produce and drive top-notch deliverables
• Pronounced understanding of materiality & design for manufacturing

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of engaging with diverse cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Strong client relationship and compelling presentation skills, acting as a confident, professional brand ambassador externally

• Interest in contributing to commercial activities, such as monitoring industry & market movements, client opportunities and project scoping
• A proactive, driven personality with strong self-leadership, and a desire for shaping our team and creative culture

• Optimistic, collaborative spirit with a leading-by-doing mentality
• Care, thoughtfulness, and a positive impact mindset
