We are currently seeking a Industrial Designer to join our team based in Edmonton, AB.

We excel in developing innovative manufacturing techniques that give us a competitive edge in the industries we enter. Our team comprises 10 designers, programmers, and engineers who drive our success. We are currently seeking a skilled Industrial Designer to join our dynamic team and help shape the future of our designs and metal fabrication processes.

Job Description:

As an Industrial Designer at Milron, you will play a pivotal role in the development of new products and the enhancement of existing ones. You will collaborate with our engineering, production, and marketing teams to create designs that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional and manufacturable. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your creativity and technical skills in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualize and design new automotive and metal fabrication products from initial sketches to final models.
  • Develop 3D CAD models and detailed technical drawings for manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with engineers to ensure designs meet technical specifications and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Conduct research on industry trends, materials, and manufacturing processes to inform design decisions.
  • Create prototypes and conduct testing to validate design concepts.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve product designs.
  • Communicate design concepts and solutions effectively to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Ensure that all designs comply with industry standards and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial design, preferably in the automotive or metal fabrication industry.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Adobe, Key shot).
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
  • Excellent sketching, rendering, and visualization skills.
  • Ability to create detailed technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Portfolio showcasing previous design projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with rapid prototyping techniques and tools.
  • Knowledge of advanced manufacturing technologies (e.g., CNC machining, laser cutting, tube lasers, tube bending, injection molding, vacuum forming, and welding ).
  • Familiarity with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles.
  • Understanding of automotive industry standards and regulations.
