It's necessary to know the software, but to create impactful visuals for our projects, we need to understand the basics of composition, camera lenses, how to tell a story, or even the main lighting techniques such as how to set a 3 point scene. Using these traditional photography techniques, we will fine-tune how we place an object on a scene and all the settings that will help us draw attention to what really matters. We'll learn how to set the most common scenes that you'll need when working your industrial design studio desk:

Your Teacher

Sam is an industrial designer with work spanning an eclectic range of industries, from gallery installations with Paul Cocksedge Studio to 3D printed table lights for Gantri. He’s worked with clients including Braun and Nestle Skin Health and now works at design consultancy LAYER.

He also runs an Instagram and YouTube channel – sam_does_design – where he shares industry tips with the design community and partners with global brands to showcase or assist with their design processes. Sam specialises in being a generalist throughout the entire design process, from strategic concept generation to visuals for press releases.

Do I need to be an experienced designer? Is it only for beginners?

The course is suitable for anyone, whether you are a student or far in your design career.

If you’re a beginner, this course will cover The basics, from the interface, tools, creating simple and complex scenes but also more advanced, techniques such as my workflow that allows me to create high quality renders really efficiently.

If you’re already more experienced, it’s the same. Imagine if you would transfer all your knowledge to me, I would still learn a lot. So here is the same, if I give you all my knowledge, there are also plenty of things which will complete what you know.

Where will the course be available?

The entirety of the course is online , on the private section of the leManoosh website.

You will find all modules and videos there, accessible anywhere, anytime!

Some files and scenes are downloadable from the websites which Sam is mentioning (just use the links). All you need is an internet connection.

What do I need to do this course?

You will need a computer with internet to have access to the videos and you will also need Keyshot 10 installed on your computer. No extra plugins are required, every tool used are native in Keyshot.

You can download a free version of Keyshot (3 months free with all tools).

Which version of Keyshot do I need?

You can use Keyshot 9, 10 or the latest Keyshot 11 version. We created the course so that the tools and functionalities which we use are common to every version and everyone.
