For its Design team based in Belgium (near Ghent), Samsonite is currently looking for a result-driven:
The designer will be part of Design team reporting to the Design Director. He/she will be mainly responsible for supporting the design team during all stages of the product development cycle from concept through to production.
He/she will build and maintain excellent relationships with the Product Managers, with the Product Development team, external suppliers and any other internal and external parties.
Creates and generates new product concepts, design styles, colour palettes, graphics, illustrations and material based on marketing brief’s requests dedicated to softside, hardside and hybrid solutions.
Carefully follows up on projects in cooperation with the Project Manager, the Product Managers, the Purchasing Manager, the Quality Manager and any involved suppliers.
Prepares and makes clear and persuasive presentations for team meetings and monthly product presentations to the senior management team.
Prepares technical information’s files (Design Package) for product sampling and final references before the final launch to production.
Works in close collaboration with the marketing and development teams.
Constantly seeks inspiration through attending fairs, looking for trends online and offline, going to libraries, attending design shows, reading magazines, visiting suppliers, materials and new techniques, towards implementing them in new and innovative products.
Keeps abreast of product design and fashion industry trends.
Be open to travel locally and globally to help implement dedicated projects in cooperation with the company’s subcontractors.
Continuously investigates innovative ideas materials and processes.
Demonstrate successful experience working in the design team of a consumer goods company or consultancy.
Have an excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative suite: Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign Rhinoceros, Keyshot, and Microsoft Office applications.
Be proficient in English.
