This role in summary

The Analyst Designer is responsible for creating the customer experience for the next generation of home appliances. This person will support efforts to understand emerging trends, seek out real-life insights, conceive user interface design solutions, and assure uncompromising usability.

 

Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates for an Analyst Designer opening in our Global Consumer Design (GCD) function.

 


While this position does not offer remote work opportunity, we do have a hybrid schedule and the candidate must live within a commutable distance to Southwest Michigan.

 


A portfolio highlighting multiple projects and your direct contributions will be needed to be considered for the role.


Your responsibilities will include

  • GCD Analyst designer is responsible for collaborating with senior designers on conceptualization, visualization, and development of new products having an AVERAGE level of difficulty, sense of aesthetics and user experience.
  • Works to understand and support the development of User Experience and Brand Design strategies.
  • Develops a basic manufacturing and industry knowledge, user needs, processes, and design influencers to develop a wide range of desirable concepts.
  • Learn the product development processes, people, and design values.
  • Manages personal time based on a detailed task list and delivery timelines.
  • Capable of communicating design solutions with internal design teams.
  • With direction from the supervisor, creates documentation of design assets for various projects.
  • Influences peer teams within GCD by creating desirable assets, Develops personal professional skills, Comprehends and executes strategies.
  • Supports Senior design staff in the design process to reach clear, defined, and inspiring final design solutions. With moderate direction, manage creative activities for assigned tasks.

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design
  • 3+ years of design experience in a corporate or consultant environment
  • 3+ years of 3D Computer modeling experience
  • 3+ years of 2D visual digital and presentation experience

Preferred skills and experiences

  • Excellent project management and planning skills
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to facilitate communication across different disciplines
  • Excellent decision-making abilities and self-motivation
  • Adaptability and flexibility to change as designs and processes improve over time.
  • Strong CAD modeling skills using platforms such as Solidworks
  • Strong rendering skills such as Keyshot
  • Strong understanding of Adobe suite (Illustrator and Photoshop)

Additional information

Employees in this role can work a hybrid schedule of three core days in office and two days remote. This enables employees to come together to collaborate in-person and gives employees the added flexibility to work remotely
