SLIMDESIGN is a leading product development agency that works for global brands and ambitious start-ups. We combine industrial design, UX/UI, mechanical and electronic engineering, and software (firmware and apps) to deliver complex products quickly and efficiently.

We are looking for an experienced Industrial Designer / Design Engineer to join our team in Amsterdam.

As an Industrial Designer / Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Developing technically feasible ideas, concepts, and product configurations for consumer electronics.
• Setting up the technical construction and determining the production methods
• Developing and refining the parts in 2D and 3D (SolidWorks)
• Estimating the final product price and the required investments
• Making the risk analysis and validation procedure, coordinating the prototyping
• Determining, outsourcing, and supervising the production tooling

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• A technical design engineering education and knowledge of production techniques
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in the development of consumer products
• A strong sense of design and engineering with a straightforward methodical approach
• An affinity with electronic products and the Internet of Things
• Excellent visual communication skills (hand drawings, Photoshop visualizations, and CAD rendering skills)
• Expert knowledge of SolidWorks, KeyShot, and Adobe programs
• The ability to work independently and manage your work (planning, deliverables, and quality)
• A social, proactive, independent, and positive attitude
