Circ is looking for a talented Industrial Designer to join our fast paced Shanghai design studio. We would like to connect with Junior / Intermediate Industrial Designers with a preferred start date in March or April 2024.

About us

Circ is an industrial design studio co-founded by Swiss-Japanese designer Mugi Yamamoto and Canadian designer Eric Cross in 2021 with offices in Adelaide, Australia and Shanghai, China.

We specialize in industrial design that delivers significant improvement to a product\\\'s usability, functionality and sustainability, with a hands-on process of sketching, prototyping and testing that leads to novel designs and creates new business opportunities for our clients. We have developed products and furniture pieces for major brands in Europe, Asia & North America including Festool, Goodtone Furniture, and Kesseböhmer.

We’re looking for

• Bachelors or Masters Degree in Product/Industrial/Furniture Design
• 2-5 years of professional experience in Industrial Design
• Excellent sketching and visual communication abilities
• CAD surfacing skills in Solidworks, Fusion360 or Rhino
• Familiarity with design tools such as Keyshot and the Adobe Creative suite, as well as a willingness to learn new softwares and tools
• A proactive, goal-oriented mind-set and the ability to self-manage time and projects
• Demonstrable knowledge in physical prototyping
• Understanding of materials, production techniques and design for manufacture
• Willingness to go on business trips to visit clients and factories
• Documentation, organization and time management skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English (Chinese or German is a plus)
