Mid-Level Industrial Designer at

The Opportunity

We are looking for an Mid-Level Industrial Designer to join our growing studio. The role is full-time, working on numerous projects from concept to production.

OUR STUDIO

Studio Wood is a strategic, responsible design studio based in Bournemouth, UK. We work closely with our clients to ensure design solutions are intuitive, simple and honest. Sharing the same core design principles and product vision has led us to form strong trusting relationships with our clients. We currently work across consumer technology, furniture, consumer goods and sustainable design.

THE ROLE

The ideal candidate will have solid knowledge of emerging technologies, whilst solving problems holistically with a human-centred approach. They would also share our emphasis for meaningful design, looking to create solutions that are accessible, sustainable, solve problems and generally elevate what came before them.

The role will be based full-time at our studio in Bournemouth, UK.

Required

  • Exceptional Solidworks skills
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong Keyshot skills
  • Extensive understanding of manufacturing processes
  • 4+ years industry experience
  • Strong communication skills in English
  • Able to work from Bournemouth, UK
  • Design style and approach is a natural fit

Nice to have

  • A portfolio of products that are commercially available
  • Strong physical sketching skills
  • Degree in a relevant field
  • Experience/Interest in UX/UI
  • Knowledge of other visualisation and 3D modelling software
  • Previous experience managing design projects and design teams
  • Experience designing with LCA software
