The Opportunity

We are looking for a Product Designer/ Renderer Animator with an impressive creative portfolio building fully functional detailed CAD models, rendering images and editing animations. Collaborating with the product and marketing team, you will assist in the development of all phases of design, to help visualise, refine and detail new designs for production; from CAD design detailing, to prototyping (including 3d printing) and creating production-ready drawings.

Some of your core responsibilities will include:

• Using 3D modelling software to design products and components
• Producing Production-ready component and assembly drawings
• Producing prototypes and test functionality
• Improving the design of existing products
• Gathering feedback from product users
• Using 3d Rendering software for the creation of digital images
• Animation storyboarding and rendering
• Editing animation including timing and pacing of motion, based on audio requirements
• Collaborating with other creatives including designers and the rest of the team to finalize the project
• Giving and receiving constructive, creative feedback across teams
• QC inspection of production orders
• Technical Sales support
• Researching materials and manufacturing techniques
• Brainstorming and conceptualizing ideas, with the ability to produce concept sketches and quick concept CAD edits

What You Bring

We are searching for a candidate who can build healthy relationships with the leadership team and can positively influence their decision-making process. The potential candidate must be results-driven with a customer-centric and team-first mindset, someone who also believes in the environmental and B-corp dream.

• Bachelors/Masters in Product Design, Industrial Design, Architecture, Manufacturing Design Engineering, a certificate in computer animation, fine arts, graphic design, or other related fields
• Proven experience in all phases of the design process including user research, copywriting, wireframing, prototyping, visual design, interaction design, and usability testing
• Expert in CAD software (such as Solidworks) and Rendering programs (such as Keyshot)
• Expert in Adobe creative suite
• An intuitive eye for customer needs beyond the obvious
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional team members
• Ability to collect and interpret both qualitative and quantitative feedback
• A well-rounded portfolio of client work, demonstrating a strong understanding of project objectives
• Ability to effectively communicate design concepts
• Passion for design; not satisfied with the status quo and always thinking of ways to improve
• Creative problem-solving skills
• Dynamic, creative personality, effective at engaging and influencing a variety of audiences
• Assist product engineers when needed
• Recommend new tools and technologies by staying abreast of the latest trends and techniques
• Ability to work independently or with a team to develop animations and solve problems.
