Head of Industrial Design at
Pininfarina of America

Pininfarina Shanghai is looking for a talented Head of Industrial Design with demonstrated abilities and sensibilities on the creation of elegant, refined and beautiful designs and experiences.

Roles and responsibilities

• Manage and supervise the Industrial Design Team
• Oversee the projects and plan activities and deliverables for each design phase
• Support processes, people and projects in order to grow the studio and ensure the quality of the outputs
• Guarantee a consistent identity based on Pininfarina Brand values and DNA
• Visit clients for business development, briefings and milestone presentations
• Be an active participant and team player

Skills/experience

• Proficient knowledge of all of the steps of the design process (analysis, user research, prototyping, sketching, 3D modeling, rendering, feasibility, CMF, etc.)
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills, ability to create outstanding presentations
• Experience with big and small appliances, consumer electronics, furniture
• Experience in Transportation, Interior and Graphic Design is a plus
• Proficiency with hand sketching, Photoshop, Illustrator, Rhino, Keyshot and other tools to enhance team’s skills and knowledge. Familiarity of engineering tools like Creo or SolidWorks is a plus

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design or related field
• 10+ years design field work experience, multidisciplinary design consultancy experience is preferred
• 3+ years managing a Design Team
• Fluency in English. Mandarin and/or Italian is a plus
• Already settled in China
