We are looking for an experienced CMF designer to strengthen our Wellbeing design team in Shanghai, China. We have the ambition to advance our CMF competencies to be able to elevate the brand and create better experiences for our consumers. We are looking for a highly creative, passionate CMF designer that can creatively inspire, lead and develop world-class CMF design of current and future appliances.
As a member of Electrolux Design team, you will be part of our bigger goal of shaping life for the better by designing meaningful experiences. We are a global team of over 200 designers located in 8 different locations, working across all of our business units.
As CMF Designer for Electrolux, you would be working through the full product development phase: from initial trend analysis and conceptual ideas to creating strategic direction and to later implementation of the creative vision. You need to have the ability to visualize the CMF strategy and communicate it in an inspiring way to influence relevant internal & external stakeholders. You would be part of a global CMF team where collaboration and alignment towards common goals are important, but at the same time you would have the creative freedom to drive and evolve the CMF expression within a specific domain.
You have the ability to work independently and feel comfortable even when working with ambiguousness and shifting deadlines.
Senior CMF designer, Responsibilities:
Create CMF strategy for a particular brand/category in close collaboration with the CMF design team.
Lead the CMF palette development for a particular brand/ category and work closely together with selected suppliers to ensure the implementation of the creative vision.
Create and manage guidelines and templates for CMF, texture and graphic specifications for consistent and smooth implementation in the projects.
Implement the CMF strategy into various projects.
Support the set up of a material and finishing roadmap based on a 5-year plan with a strong focus on sustainability as a driver.
Contribute and leverage Trend Research as input to the creative process, to identify relevant trends, materials, and manufacturing processes to inspire new CMF expressions and truly desirable experiences for the consumer.
Visualize CMF concepts by using appropriate tools (mood boards, sketching, 3D modeling, advanced rendering, etc.) to define and communicate CMF strategy in a comprehensive way.
Drive collaboration with relevant suppliers and translate learnings into category-based opportunities.
Inspire and challenge the Industrial Designer with Material and Finishing input based on defined CMF strategy.
Degree or higher-level qualification in Industrial Design or other relevant design field
3-5+ years professional CMF experience.
Thorough understanding and extensive hands-on experience with all phases of the CMF design process - from trend research and palette development to manufacturing execution. Preferably from an industry leading corporation.
Ability to work across the entire portfolio of Wellbeing products anq21q2w23d drive consistency across brand.
Ability to work seamlessly across functions and strive for increased collaboration.
Ability to manage a larger range of products within a domain, while supporting smaller activities.
Fluent in relevant 2D and 3D software (Adobe CC, Keyshot etc)
Excellent verbal, written and visual communication and presentation skills.
Fluency in English.
Willingness to travel and represent the Design Team at supplier and manufacturing sites.
