SALARY: £28-45k a year DOE

Duncan & Grove is an award winning playground equipment design and manufacture company. We manufacture a range of high-quality natural play equipment as well as building large custom playgrounds using both timber and steel. See www.duncanandgrove.com for more information. 

THE ROLE:

We are looking for a technical designer to join our growing team. The candidate will work closely and collaboratively with the company’s multi-disciplinary team on the detailed design of our equipment. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Developing 3D models and technical drawings using solidworks
• Preparing construction drawing submittal packages
• Producing installation instructions for our installation teams
• Producing BOM’s for material orders
• Liaising with internal principal designers, engineers, fabricators and installers
• Liaising with external landscape architects and clients
• Developing products for our catalogue range

YOU HAVE:

If you’re going to turn your talents to the design of custom play spaces, you’ll need:

• A Degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, 3D design, Furniture Design or similar
• Excellent understanding of Solidworks
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD would be an asset
• A basic understanding of Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator
• A basic understanding of the structural and technical properties of timber and steel
• A basic understanding of construction methods and fixings
• The ability to sketch out ideas on paper and present to the team or a client
