UIUX Designer for Automotive at
Huemen

Being a part of Huemen, Harman’s design studio, we connect the dots from brands to users through meaningful design. We are searching for a UI/UX Designer to join our award-winning and growing design team in Munich. You will develop new display interaction concepts for the automotive environment and/or accompanying mobile applications. In collaboration with our engineering and marketing teams, you will define holistic car audio experiences for Harman’s premium audio brands, including Harman Kardon, Bowers & Wilkins, Bang & Olufsen, JBL, and AKG.

What You Will Do

• Ensure all design assets are aligned with the brand vision and advocate for new design standards in collaboration with product, marketing, and engineering teams.
• Being a user advocate, you will drive the creation of personas, storyboards, and user stories with rich visuals to define future mobility experiences
• As design evangelist, you continuously learn and apply the latest design trends and best practices for user-centered design
• Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, and interactive prototypes to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas
• Deliver assets for visual design specifications (graphics, layouts, motion) in a design system with reusable and responsive assets
• Present and defend designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholders
• Work resourcefully in a fast-paced environment and providing creative guidance to junior designers while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders and clients

What You Need

• Bachelor’s Degree in Media/Digital Arts, Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology, or equivalent training
• 3+ years of experience designing complex digital interfaces in web, mobile, or automotive
• Comfortable with running the complete UX processes from initial research, conceptualization, user research and UI design including testing and validation
• Creation of user interface design drafts and animations for displays in the area of instrument cluster, head unit, head-up display, steering wheel controls and rear seat
• Compelling portfolio showcasing creativity, aesthetics, breadth of projects, and approach to solving complex design problems
• Strong attention to detail with a relentless attitude towards quality
• Demonstrated customer/client relationship experience for a creative design agency
• Web-based tools for UI/UX design (Figma, Adobe Creative Suite)
• Ability to work in a global matrixed organization and able to communicate at all levels
• Translate core brand values into appealing UI designs

What is Nice to Have

• Experience in the development of digital-cockpit, in-vehicle infotainment (IVI), Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), car audio, and telematics services
• Experience with Unity and in the Android development environment

What Makes You Eligible

• Be willing to travel up to 5%, domestic and international travel
• Be willing to work wednesdays and thursdays in-office in Garching, Munich. Remainder of the week is remote as needed.
