Chamberlain Group is seeking driven, forward-thinking, and creative Industrial Designer to support Chamberlain’s wide range of products. Chamberlain’s platforms are the first smart garage and commercial access products that connect people to their access points from anywhere and is utilized by millions of homeowners and thousands of businesses every day. The Industrial Designer will support the design team’s effort to enhance our product experiences to better meet the needs our users.
You Are
  • A curious problem-solver, capable of understanding customer needs and translating their insights into thoughtful design concepts
  • Creative with a keen intuition for design aesthetics, visual communication, and simplicity
  • Energetic, self-motivated, and driven to get the details right
  • A versatile designer that can handle both industrial design and business challenges
  • Drive user experience and design direction with Eng, Marketing, and sourcing teams
  • Adapt designs to cost constraints and business goals
  • Drive connectivity through design
You Will
  • Work across Chamberlain’s smart access ecosystem of products that engages millions of users daily
  • Sit within the newly created Experience Design team consisting of UI/UX Designers, Industrial Designers and Researchers and support design activities that will drive incredible experiences
  • Focus on advocating for design and user experience across our residential, commercial and access systems platforms considering both renovation (90%) and innovation (10%) opportunities
  • Leverage customer insights and user-data to support user experience design efforts
  • Support the human-centered design process and participate in user research activities
  • Work with product owners and research teams to test concepts with target users and ensure successful research outcomes by supporting user-story development brainstorms and communicating actionable insights to the product teams
  • Work with a cross-functional team to support continuous product discovery and delivery with multiple design activities including research, iterative prototyping, and design documentation
  • Drive customer centered design initiatives based on business priorities and design team objectives
  • Gain invaluable, hands-on design experience and mentorship from a high-performing design team and innovative product organization
  • Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams
  • Protect Chamberlain’s reputation by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed.
  • Mentor and work with Co/Ops to help enhance their skill set and design knowledge
